After a month of me applying for one, the PLDT people dropped by my place and install PLDT’s Plan 888 DSL. It’s not their fault though that it took them that long. I’ve been busy for the past weeks shooting. Kaya, it was a good thing that they called today and I’m free.
As of now, I’m very much pleased with the speed. Don’t know though how fast it is but definitely faster than my dial up connection. I was able to download and install the latest version of YM, run my gTalk without it having to reconnect several times and able to load several sites.
So to the PLDT folks, thanks for dropping by! And to Edward, thanks for the help in setting up my LAN card.

PLDT was so aggresive in promoting their DSL services in our area but when I applied for one, it is now taking me more than a week waiting for the installation after buying all the necesary gadgets for my laptop. Up to now wala pa rin. May problema pala sa line sa area namin. Hay sus !
Sorry to hear that ED. Wish PLDT could have advised you earlier about that. Probably in the future, they could include in their system a way to track the availability of their service. :-”
Let’s just hope that there be more tougher competitions between the landline providers so that they’ll be able to provide better services and keep their customers satisfied.
hay ang bagal ng connection ko kainis kaya………
sana ma solve ung problem n 2 para pa rin ako naka dial up
kainis talaga
Unlike from the previous months, it was terribly impossible to connect during peak hours, lately, I’m able to connect immediately to PLDT. Was even able to restart the connection without any problem. Connection speed is still fine in my area… still faster than dial up
My only concern now is that I hear some noise when I use the phone. Is this normal? Can this be fixed?
I got Plan 888 almost 6 mos. ago burst speed was over 900 kbps but after 4 mos. it dropped to 37 kbp and sometimes even lower. I called up pldt tech support reporting my problem everyday until I was satisfied with my speed.
The tech support agent were really helpful as they would report my problem back to their head office and after two weeks they have restored my speed to 170-200kbps as an average. NOT BAD AT ALL!!! than having a dial up…
They told me that there was really no plan 888 as plan 999 should have at least more than 200 kbps and their vibe should be at least 40 kbps so plan 888 should only be at least 70 kbps . So their head in the office said he just pegged it at 200 kbps. Actually, he was joking that he would pegged it at 500 kbps if it was alright to me….
So, over-all I have no complaints and it never disconnects unlike our dial up before…
Yes, webzer you can fix the noise by trying to take out the filter and inserting it again . If the noise is still there try to contact their tech support and they would know what to do.Probably change your filter to a new one…
@Gooy
Thanks for the tip. Will try it out later.
